How long does it take to convert an existing
resume?
Converting your existing resume should take you 60 minutes or less,
depending upon the number of pages to be converted.
What is the ideal format to upload my
existing resume?
Nearly all document formats can be uploaded to the Converter
Wizard. However, Rich Text Format (*.rtf) is the best format
to use.
How do I convert my existing resume to Rich
Text Format?
Most word processing applications have an option to save
the document as Rich Text Format. The following instructions
are for converting a Microsoft Word document to Rich Text, but the
process should be similar for whatever application you use.
- Open Microsoft Word
- Select your resume
- Click "Save as" in File
- Go to: "Save as type" on bottom under file name
- Select Rich Text Format extension (*. rtf)
- Click "Save"
- Return to JobSmart Resume
How long does it take to create a new
resume?
Creating a new resume will take you 30-60 minutes or less,
depending upon the number of pages required.
Why save more than one resume?
It is a good idea to save multiple versions of your resume,
tailoring each version according to the specific job for which you
are applying. By highlighting certain key points in your resume, or
changing your objectives, you can ensure that your resume perfectly
matches the criteria of a particular job for which you want to be
considered.
How many resumes can I save?
You can save as many versions of your resume as you want.
Why give a title to each of my resumes?
If you save multiple versions of your resume, it is a good idea to
give a different title to each of them. This way you will be able
to identify them easily when a company calls.
How do I update my contact details?
You can update your contact details by clicking on the "Change
email and Address" link at the top right of the page. When you
change this information, it will be automatically displayed on all
the resumes you create, download, or track. Enter this information
as you would like it to appear on your resume and be displayed to
potential employers.
I don't have time to finish converting or creating my
resume right now. Will my changes be saved until I log on
again?
Yes! Your unfinished resume will appear on the first page with the
name under which it was saved.
Why is the "Skill/Knowledge:Readiness" feature so
prominent?
This feature supplies critical key information that recruiters use
to quickly match you to the jobs they are trying to fill. The
"Skill/Knowledge:Readiness" feature automatically generates a
summary of your skills/knowledge based on your own self evaluation
of how ready you are to use each skill "on-the-job," For each
skill, the "Last Used" date and the total "Years Used" are
automatically calculated from company job descriptions. The
accuracy of this information ensures that recruiters and potential
employers know what to expect upon hiring you.
Can I edit information in the
"Skill/Knowledge:Readiness" feature? How?
Yes. You can edit information for each skill by choosing a
Self-Rating level from the drop-down list in the first column (on
the left). This allows you to self rate your experience and comfort
level with each skill. You may also adjust the "Years Used" to more
appropriately reflect your experience for that particular skill.
This feature provides a guarantee that you have a finely tuned,
100% accurate resume.
What is the "Send And Track" feature and how do I use
it?
The "Send and Track" feature helps you to keep an accurate record
of all the companies you have sent your resume to. You can track
the success of each of the applications you send with the
associated job advertisement, resume version, and company details.
The tracker will allow you to email your resume directly from
JobSmart Resume. To track a new resume, simply click "Track New
Resume." You can also cut and paste a copy of the job advertisement
into the space provided.
How do I modify my work experience?
You can edit or delete any of your work experiences at any time. Go
to the appropriate page and click "edit" or "delete." To add a new
work experience, simply click "Add".
How do I edit the details of my resume?
You can easily edit details of your resume at any time. Simply
click on the related tab buttons in the navigation bar on each
page. For example: click "General" to change summary and salary
information and click "Jobs" to modify your work experience.
What is the "Recruiter View?"
Recruiters and hiring managers use online parsing engines to help
them handle the huge volume of resumes they receive each day. The
"Recruiter View" shows you how your information will be viewed
after your resume has been processed by a parsing engine.
Can I save my resume into a Microsoft Word format?
How?
Yes. Simply go to the "Preview Resume & Download Page" and
click on the "Save as Microsoft Word (*doc.)" button.

How secure is JobSmart Resume?
Every account requires a unique username and password in order to
access information. This means that you are the only person allowed
to view and/or change your information.
How secure is the payment?
JobSmart Resume uses high-grade encryption (128-bit encryption)
while processing your payment, so you can be certain that your
payment information is totally secure. All information submitted is
treated as private and confidential.
Will my contact information be sold to any third
parties?
No. The privacy of the information you provide is
essential to us. All information gathered by the website owner
during your visit will not be resold to any third party, including
credit card information and email addresses.
Is there an automatic timeout period on the
website?
Yes. After a period of inactivity of 60 minutes you will be
automatically logged out of JobSmart Resume. This reduces the risk
of anyone accessing your account if you leave your computer
unattended.
Is there a support team I can contact?
How?
Yes, you can contact our support team anytime. Simply go to the
"Support" link on top of each page and submit a helpdesk ticket.
Our support team will dedicate themselves to answering you as soon
as possible.

I forgot my user password. How do I retrieve
it?
If you have forgotten your password, go to the Sign-In page and
enter your email address in the email box shown. Click "Forgot
Password." Your password will be emailed to you shortly.

Resume?
JobSmart Resume requires Internet Explorer® 7.0 or above.
Can I use the back and forward buttons on my
browser?
Yes, you can use the back and forward buttons on your browser.
However, we recommend that you use the "previous" and "next"
buttons that appear at the bottom of each page. You can also
navigate using the menu on the top of the page.
